Rhinoplasty is surgery in which the shape of the nose is modified. It may be to change the appearance of the nose, fix respiratory problems, or both.

Surgery is always performed in the operating room, within a hospital or clinic, under general anesthesia. It is an ambulatory surgery of approximately 2 or 3 hours.
It consists of molding the bone and nasal cartilage. When the surgery is complete, a splint is placed over the nose that will help maintain the new shape of the nose, nasal plugs will also be placed in both nostrils to prevent bleeding and keep the nasal septum straight.
The first 2 days your face will feel swollen, and you may have bruises. After the third or fourth day you can return to your usual activities. You will not be able to wear glasses for a month, try not to sunbathe, or practice sports for 1 month or 3 if it is of high impact.
As the face swells a lot, in one or two weeks it will not seem that you have had surgery, the results will begin to be noticed after a month. The definitive result is achieved up to a year after the operation, with the nasal tip being the last portion of the nose to reduce inflammation.
